SK C&C and IBM concluded a partnership agreement in order to provide “cloud-based office environment, system, and system operation environment across the globe,” SK C&C said on July 16.

Kumho Tire is to offer memory form pillows to its customers purchasing its passenger car radial (PCR) tires or truck bus radial (TBR) tires from July 16 to Aug. 15, the company said on July 15. 

The offer is a part of the company’s promotional event, the “Cool Summer.”

The PCR tires that come with pillows are the Majesty SOLUS, Ecsta 4X II, City Venture APT, SUV CRUGEN Premium, and CRUGEN HP91.

Caffe Bene, a South Korean coffee franchise, is accelerating its marketing in Southeast Asia. The company has opened its fourth branch in the Aeon Mall in Tangerang City, the company said on July 15. The city is near Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, the country that produces the largest amount of coffee in Asia.

Caffe Bene’s Aeon Mall café is on the first floor of the Aeon Mall shopping center, a new fixture of Tangerang City. The café has 108 seats in the area of 280 m2, 52 seats of which are in the outdoor terrace in front of the entrance of the shopping mall.

The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone (GFEZ) Authority has appointed a new commissioner, Kwon Oh-bong, and held his inauguration ceremony on July 6.

Kwon Oh-bong said that he will continue the existing developmental plans of the zone without any disruptions.

South Korean Lotte Corporation is hosting the “1600 Panda +” exhibition, appealing for wild animal protection, in the Lotte World Mall in Seoul, the company said on July 8.

Choi Won-seok, a public relations representative of the company, said that there are 1800 pandas exhibited. According to the Chinese government’s announcement, the number of wild pandas increased by 17 percent in the last decade, surpassing 1,800 this year, the Lotte Corporation said.

Hyundai Elevator has concluded a contract to supply a semi-automated product warehouse and logistics automation system to Hankook Tire’s new factory in Clarksville, Tennessee in the U.S., Hyundai Elevator said on July 6.

The value of the order is US$19,950,000.

Hyundai Elevator plans to complete the design of the logistics system with its own conveyor, sky-rav, and stacker cranes, which will be shipped in March 2016.

An official at Hyundai Elevator said that the company is aimed at complete the project by the second half of 2017.
