The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (GCCEI) announced that it helped Korean top startups participate in the Echelon Asia Summit 2017 held in Singapore for two days from June 28.

The Echelon Asia Summit is a startup conference being held in Asia’s startup cities, such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, organized by e27, news media devoted to Asia’s startup ecosystem.

The GCCEI selected and sent five domestic startups to the conference. The participating companies include Komachine, which provides domestic machinery industry research databases, Jameasy, which supplies wearable violin learning devices, BizWorks, which provides security solutions that prevent forgery and falsification, Tiger Company, which offers enterprise social network platforms, and Rootee Health, which manufactures wearable cameras that prevent eye related diseases.

The catch here is four startups belonging to the GCCEI ranked in the Top 100 Fight Club, top companies in six categories selected by the organizer. Komachine won the grand prize in the e-commerce and open market category and made the final list of the top 6, attracting attention from investors.

After the conference, the GCCEI visited SG Innovate, a venture capital and startup incubator under the Singaporean government, and introduced Korean startups, strengthening its networks. The two parties also discussed ways to cooperate in the startup ecosystem between the two countries.
