Visualcamp was recognized for its technology by exhibiting its VR eye tracking technology at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 held in Barcelona, Spain on February 27 (local time).

The start-up support agency K-ICT Born2Global Center said that VR eye tracking technology of the center’s Visualcamp drew a lot of visitors as the technology was used for Samsung Electronics’ next-generation all-in-one type HMD (head mounted display). The technology is being exhibited at Samsung Electronics’ B2B booth at the MWC.

Visualcamp has world-class competitiveness in eye tracking technology optimized for mobile HMDs. Its technology can save mobile devices electric power and their CPUs heat, which hold the key to the success of mobile devices, and be ported to various operating systems such as Android, Mac OS, Windows, Linux and so on.

The company also secured eye tracking technology that can be implemented in smart-phones that can interlock with HMD devices and all-in-one HMD devices. In particular, the technology proved its excellence as Samsung’s Exynoss 8890 Chip measured the technology’s CPU share and found out that the share was less than 3% on average.

"By showcasing VR visual tracking technology via collaboration with Samsung Electronics at the MWC, we secured a bridgehead to global marketing while having the technology recognized worldwide," said Seok Yun-chan, CEO of Visualcamp. "We will create a new venture success story by accelerating the commercialization of the technology and maximizing sales via the development of excellent technology."

Meanwhile, earlier in September last year, Visualcamp was recognized for its technological prowess and growth potential by ranking in the G-Startup Seoul Top 15, where roughly 200 excellent start-ups from all over the world participated, after being listed in the Red Herring Asia 100, which included Google, Facebook, Alibaba, and Kakao in September of last year.
