Natural Gas Development
On March 16 and 17, KOGAS held a joint workshop in Gyeongju with the Korea Development Bank, NH Bank, and Korea Trade Insurance Corporation to discover and develop overseas natural gas infrastructure projects.
The participating companies sought ways to secure competitiveness when participating in overseas projects by combining the capacity of KOGAS’s natural gas infrastructure business with the financing capability of investment institutions through the workshop.
With the successful operation of LNG production bases at five domestic and overseas sites, KOGAS is being asked to participate in natural gas infrastructure projects by newly emerging countries which need to develop their LNG reserves in such regions as Latin America, Asia and Africa.
"We will aggressively expand overseas LNG production base business development by combining the local financial techniques with KOGAS’s construction and operation know-how of LNG production base for more than 30 years," said Koh Soo-seok, head of the Production Headquarters at KOGAS, who participated in the workshop.
In the meantime, KOGAS plans to take the lead in creating jobs and realize win-win growth through joint advancements with Korean construction companies and equipment and material producers when pushing forward with overseas projects.
