Samsung Electronics will introduce HDR10 Plus video content with Amazon. Videos based on HDR10 Plus technology have stronger brightness and contrast, resulting in more natural pictures.

Samsung Electronics announced on December 12 that viewers would be able to enjoy premium video content with HDR10 Plus through video streaming app 'Amazon Prime Video'. The target audience is users of QLED TVs and UHD TVs launched in 2017. The service will start on December 13.

HDR10 Plus is a next-generation standard visual technology developed by Samsung Electronics. This technology optimizes the brightness and contrast ratio of each scene, making bright parts brighter and dark parts darker, thereby enhancing the stereoscopic effects of a video and creating a very natural picture.

The launch of the service has empowered Samsung TV users to enjoy 100 high-quality films and TV shows based on alliance between Samsung and Amazon including Amazon's own TV and movie series 'The Grand Tour,' 'The Tick' and ‘The Man in the High Castle' via HDR10 Plus technology.

Samsung Electronics and Amazon are planning to gradually expand HDR10 Plus contents. Samsung Electronics is putting a spur to building 'HDR10 Plus' ecosystems to lead next-generation HDR technology. The company announced the formation of HDR10 Plus alliance with 20th Century Fox and Panasonic in September and is planning to set up a licensing agency in January and introduce a certification and logo program.
