The Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced that the company signed an MOU on technological cooperation in the energy new industry such as electric vehicle (EV) charge infrastructure construction project with the Dominican Republic's National Energy Commission (CNE) at the Western Chosun Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul on March 17.

Chairman Cho Hwan-ik of KEPCO and Chairman Rodriguez Nina of the Dominican Republic CNE agreed to cooperate on energy project priority negotiations such as EV charging station construction, technology exchanges in the new energy business sector and technological cooperation and information exchange in the electric power industry

Accordingly, KEPCO will begin to draw a master plan for the new energy industry such as EV charging infrastructure and energy efficient projects using solar power and wind in the Dominican Republic beginning in May of this year.

After signing a contract with Ecuadorean government in March last year to establish EV charging infrastructure, KEPCO conducted a feasibility study in Ecuador on two separate occasions.

Through the study, Korea's technical standards and electric vehicle charging infrastructure operation system were applied to Ecuador’s national standards. Currently, KEPCO is moving forward with a US$30 million EV charging infrastructure project in Ecuador.
