The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) Authority will hold the 6th New Cities Summit at the Songdo Convensia in Songdo International City from June 7 to 9 for three days.

The New Cities Summit (http://www.newcitiessummit2017.org) marks its sixth anniversary this year. The summit began in Paris France in 2012 and is hosted by the New Cities Foundation (chairman John Rossant) headquartered in Switzerland under the sponsorship of cities and global corporations.

The New Cities Summit will be held in Songdo International City in early June of this year for the second time in Asia after Jakarta, Indonesia. About 800 people such as mayors and smart city and urban experts, and CEOs of multinational corporations will fly into Korea from around the world to attend the event.

The New Cities Summit is held annually in major cities in the world with the aim of creating business for related industries and suggesting new urban models with the participation of about 700 people in politics, academia and the business world from approximately 50 countries.

The New Cities Summit will be held at the Songdo Convensia in Incheon under the theme of “Thriving Cities: The Building Blocks of Urban Wellbeing.”

Its highlights will be a smart city-related tour on the first day and presentations on topics such as an understanding of urban wellbeing, new and digital city development, eco-friendly urban space design, group panel discussions, round table discussions and workshops on the second and third day.

The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority said that they will take the initiative in the growth of Incheon and turn Incheon into a world-class future city by building a related industry platform to lead the smart era through this New Cities Summit and creating new business opportunities to preoccupy the smart city market.
